sprkn_ranger
Im trying to figure out how to figure my port. I have a dc level 2 12" and I have a box designed (almost) and when I'm using Torres, I can't get my port area per cubic foot to be less than 16" unless I have a 1.5 inch wide port. To me that sounds too thin. The internal height of the box (and port) is 13". So my question is will it hurt anything to double or tripple up the top and bottom peices of the port to shrink its height so I can get a wider width? So instead of 13"x1.5" I could do 10"x2" for instance and it will give me a 18" per cubic ft. Or I can do 9"x2" and that will give me 14.4" per cubic foot. What do you guys think? Here is a box design that I did for another member, same subs see if you can find out how what is going on with your calculations: Enclosure Specifications: Fb = 35.062 Hz Vb = 2.52 ft^3 Subwoofer Mounting = Flush Mounted External Height = 14.5 in External Width = 27.75 in External Depth = 20 in Port Width = 3 in Cut List: * All Dimensions in Inches. * Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts. External Enclosure Parts: Front = 24 x 13 Front Internal = 22 1/2 x 13 Back = 27 3/4 x 13 Left & Right Sides: Side 1 = 18 1/2 x 13 Side 2 = 19 1/4 x 13 Top & Bottom = 27 3/4 x 20 L Port Internal Assembly Parts: Front to Back = 15 1/2 x 13 Extension = 7 1/4 x
sprkn_ranger
DC calls for a ported enclosure of 1.25feet2 for that sub. I'm only running a single 12. Looks like your vb of 2.52 is for (2) level 2 12"s. sprkn_ranger
I'm pretty sure my measurements/numbers are on point, I've checked the numbers and worked this thing so much.
