Thanks colin!, and thanks to everyone who has posted so far!

So i got to work on my box today and adjusted my cutouts so the Sa-12's would fit. I also add some reinforcement to the box. I added some wire so i can hook up both coils too.

By the way, are my pics big enough? they look fine to me but i run a lower resolution 1360X768. If you want larger pics i think i can do that.

So i got to thinking today that I am going to need more front stage to keep up with the new subs. I have a pair of polk DB 5 1/4's and i may put them in the kicks. It will be close on the drivers side so i have to get creative to help keep decent imaging. Anyway. I made up a thing-a-majig, can't remember what they are called but it's for my router so i can cut holes.

I had some lexan laying around so i used it

One speaker ring made.

Fits pretty good. Don't ya think?

I'm entirely sure how to proceed here, i need to make a back and then glass it all up but i may cut some carpet back to get some more clearance. Everything is such i tight fit in this car its a pita to work on.

Well, what do ya think? Should go forward with this?

Is that a 5 speed...Man you don't have a lot of room to work with there...unless you feel like getting creative with sheet metal under the car. Maybe time to build the doors or something off the dash

I may not slam trunks anymore....but my trunk still slams.

Yep, 5 Speed, and with the speaker like that i can push the clutch no problem. Only other option is go with "A"-pillars but i need to buy replacements because mine are broke, old and brittle. I want to save the doors for some 8's for mid-bass and i won't be able to run an 8 + 6 1/2 + 5 1/4 all in the door. Well, not without major mods.

Replacment on a '87 is going to be a challenge...I would search a junk yard, or try to find somthing close and glass them up. If you can't find an exact match find something close you could mount them with color matched screws and screw covers (HERE).

Also I believe bringing those speakers up higher will help your overall sound.
