Two 10" Aeroports enough for four MTs?

Recommended Posts

I was looking around the house and sure enough I ran into this PVC pipe that I had from way back. I remember I even tried selling it because I said to myself "im never going to use this"...Sure enough I might be able to.

Pipe is a 10"PVC pipe and its about two feet long so im thinking I cut this in half and have a tunning some where around 35hz it can work out and by cutting it in half I would then have two 10" ports.

I have 23cubic ft to work with. I would have more but I want to stay away from building any wall. CRX style FTW. ;)

So what do you guys think? Two 10" Ports good enough or they need more?

i hear that, i remember back in the day wanting to attempt a 10"-12" port and all the "experts" said noooooooo it would need to be 20 feet long to work.  Well a 10" port is only 78.5" of area and for 2 subs ive ran almost 4 times that amount.....(300" port on 2 MT 18's)

Anyway enough babbling, yes you can use 10" ports for 4 subs...if you do it right.

With 23cubes to work with for four 18" MTs would you do a regular square port or aeroport?

me personaly I would build a slot port, you can get much more port area out of a slot port than you can with round ports.

here is a perfect example right here in these pics.

2  6" round ports = 56.56 ^2 of port area

1 slot port 30 X 4 = 120^2 of port area

David makes a really good point. A square port should give me much more port area. Even with two 10" Aeroports I will only have about what 150inches of port?

Hopefully (i should) get more with a square port.

Im sticking to square ports for this project 8)
