glueing surround to basket... Goop or Shoe Goo?

Well SMD, I'm in need of some help/ answers.

The rubber glue that came with a recone is basically dried up.

I know Goop is good and can be used, but could Shoe Goo also be used?

It says it can bond to metal and others.

The reason for asking is because I have 5 tubes of Shoe Goo. Haha. I have an open bottle I just recently used on a pair of shoes.
