I'm trying to buy some recones for a pair of SA woofers and I having a lot of trouble getting a hold of Sundown to purchase the recones Does anybody know of a quick way to get a hold of them? I've contacted and talked to a couple SA dealers in DFW area (Texas) and I've sent a couple of emails over a period of about 2 weeks. And I realize there busy but it's just a little frustrating..

I'm looking at buying two SA8v1's from a guy off Craigslist and he claims they were blown due to 'clipping'. Does Sundown or somebody else make recone kits for these badass little subs? He wants 70 for each or 120 for both. Good deal bad deal?

Hey whats up eveyone I ordered a SA-8 v1.5 last week and I have now found some time to start disassembling it and getting it ready to recone. I will order the recone sometime this week when I get some extra funds. Anyway I have removed the cone off the woofer and now I am trying to remove the spiders. However there is a thick layer of glue over the spider and the screws holding the spider landing in? I think that is what it called. Someone please correct me on that cause I would also like to know the name of it. Here is what I am talking about and does anyone know how I can remove these screws so I can remove the spider and coil? Thank you for any help, -James

A friend wants me to recone his Sundown 10" sub but we can't figure out what model/version it is so we can order the correct recone kit. I've sent 2 emails to Sundown and also a email to directronix for help but so far no response. I don't want to guess and end up with the wrong recone and have to send it back. I've included some pics before the sub was stripped down. Really hope someone can help.

Hey guys and gals. I need to order a recone kit for my dc level 6 18 m4 I really liked the look of the carbon fiber cone and dust cap till I saw the price. Real shocker right. Any rate what do you all think of the carbon fiber cone for the extra $320.00 plus $40.00 for the carbon dust cap. I am sure it will be more stiff but is it worth the extra. Thanks in advance.

So has anyone ever drilled/tapped their top plate for a new basket? I was going through my boneyard and found a old blown 15" audiobahn. Its got a pretty beefy magnet so i figured id recone. The cast aluminum basket is cracked so its out of the question. Im thinking about going with a 12" 12 point aluminum basket from psi. only problem is the original basket formed around the motor and bolted to the back plate. So i have to drill and tap the top plate to accept the new 127mm x 60 degree mounting pattern of the basket. I figure if i leave the top plate attached and drill it i wont have to re attach it to the magnet (taping off the center to prevent shavings falling in of course). anyone ever done anything like this that can add a little insight?
