01VWGREENMACHINE
unless im wrong on my calculations your running at about 4800 rms?? with that you require about 340 amps (unless im wrong please correct me) this is why you are getting that kind of voltage drop the big 3 will help but im not sure how much i think your gonna need another batt or 2 in the back as doodcody suggested. Exploader1
I have a 3g alternator he said 240 is the biggest they can make it, so even if I put more batteries that alternator won't be enough? n8ball2013
i dont believe its doing what he says its doing etiher. there are plenty of places that will make you a legit one but you definitely need more batteries. Rebel4055
You didn't get a alternator from MechMan or DC. Of course the shop you went to can't make a bigger one. It probably isn't even 240 amps. Just reread the first post. Yeah that's alot of power with a alternator that probably isn't doing anything and no batteries. SnowDrifter
I have a 3g alternator he said 240 is the biggest they can make it, so even if I put more batteries that alternator won't be enough? You need both. Batteries help with short therm voltage drop - the initial draw. Alternators help you keep the voltage over a period of time. And you might want to get a better alternator than a glorified stocker. Look into Mechman or Singer or the like Edited March 5, 2012 by SnowDrifter Quote ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
