14dbass
Building a box for 2 Memphis 12's running on a Rockford 500.1 amp I would just like you guys to look it over and make sure I have it done right. Everything is front facing, port is on the left side of box looking from the front with the 2 subs next to it. I am putting a 45 on the port corner and rounding port opening. My question is does all that look right? And the 1 peace of wood that I am using for the port wall is 13" long right? Or is it 10.25" long? 412 CVX
not enough port area. try to get at least 12 square inches of port per cube. you also probably don't need that much bracing for such a small box Quote Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs. My temp system build log More box buildssome cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches! I'm with captain stupid. 14dbass
Ok how is this. I am still confused on the port wall length. When it says physical port length that is how long the wood is that makes up the part of the port that is not make by the walls of the box, Right? 412 CVX
this is port length. measured down the middle of the port physical port length is the total length of the inside of the port walls. the straight piece and the bend try modeling this in sketchup. might help you visualize everything Quote Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs. Joe X
crossfire db3 12 Ok so here is a suggestion for the crossfire audio db3 12" subs: Enclosure Specifications: Fb = 34.01 Hz Vb = 3.608 ft^3 External Height = 18.5 in External Width = 36 in External Depth = 15 in Port Width = 2 3/4 in Cut List: * All Dimensions in Inches. * Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts. External Enclosure Parts: Front = 32 1/2 x 17 Front Internal = 31 x 17 Back = 36 x 17 Left & Right Sides: Side 1 = 13 1/2 x 17 Side 2 = 14 1/4 x 17 Top & Bottom = 36 x 15 L Port Internal Assembly Parts: Front to Back = 10 3/4 x 17 Extension = 8 3/16 x 17 This subs are 200W RMS each so your amp will drive them a little above rated, start with low gain and watch out for clipping. Let me know any questions.
412 CVX
Don't listen to Joe X.... and don't do the baffle like that... Quote Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs. 14dbass
Thanks for the help I am drawing it up in sketchup now. The subs are not that heavy I don't need a double baffle do i? And just so I know for future building what is wrong with that baffle that he did? Joe X
Thanks for the help I am drawing it up in sketchup now. The subs are not that heavy I don't need a double baffle do i? And just so I know for future building what is wrong with that baffle that he did? Some people prefer baffles going all across the width and height, I use those for very powerful subs only, take a look at the other way to do the baffle (this is from another design): You are right maybe you can do without the double baffle since the subs are low power but It never hurts.
