n8ball2013 Posted March 9, 2012 Report Share Posted March 9, 2012 Bullet drop isnt technology its physics. All military snipers use a mil dot reticle. Each mil dot represents a given unit of measure at XXX distance. At long distances a sniper creates a range card listing distances next to known markers. Say a car or to the corner of a building etc. They either use a laser range finder to find the distance or estimate it. They then figure out their hold on a target at that distance and put it on the card. This allows them to never have to move their zero. Using the dots instead of the exact crosshair is called a hold. They also zero at 500 yards. So anything shorter than that they have to hold. anything farther the same thing. Snipers are no fucking joke. alot of people think they are just dumb gun guys. not even close. These are ridiculously hard to do with the eye relief so yes I know they arent perfect.
