noodlebot
Hey, so i have a 05 civic sedan and i want to put 2 12'' lvl 3 dcs in the trunk. I want to do subs forward port through the rear deck, although I have never built a box with a cylindrical port yet. I was wondering if the shape of the box really matters or I can just get my volume and put a port in. I wanted to do 3cu.ft. net volume. tuned to around 35hz (open to suggestion) sub info http://www.dcsoundlab.com/level3.html Also does it matter how much of the port is outside the box? because it will be poking out a bit to make it through the rear deck. This is what I came up with, is this a good diameter etc? When I put in a 4'' diameter the length was 6 inches so that didnt seem right. This wedge will be rotated 90 degrees. The subs will be parallel with how the seats lean back any advice would be greatly appreciated. I made this thread quick so if i missed anything let me know. LoudBimmer
Use Torres calculator. It's better Also try to use 6" aero
412 CVX
download torres like stated. keep about 8-12 sq inches per cube of port area Quote Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs. My temp system build log More box buildssome cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches! I'm with captain stupid. Yes exactly. I want the end of the port flush with the rear deck. Will I count the entire port length for this or just the port inside the box? and is this a legitimate way of having the port. Joe X
It's a perfectly legitimate way to run a port but you need to make sure that the box is bolted. The entire length should be used to calculate the port but the port displacement is only for the part that's inside. Jman08
Its easy use the 12voltbox caculator and go to psp-inc.com to figure port tuning. Would use 1-2 6's Quote Youtube.com/J Hutch22
412 CVX
for two 12s?? single 6 or 2 4's should do. 2 6's is too much more than likely Quote Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs.
