IKnowImLost224
I just made this box, it sounds like shit. I didnt know about port area before I made it. I wanna make close to the same thing except this time it will have a 3.75" port tuned to about 36 Hz. If I kept the sub firing up and just faced the port back would that be okay? Otherwise I wouldn't have much room for the sub to face forward.

bobobass
That port looks really small. I would stick with a minimum of 14 square inches of port area per cubic foot. Sheena
well port back (at least in my trunk car application) results in a massive amount of trunk rattle which is rather annoying on a large scale. every application is different, so you'd have to try it for your situation. Joe X
Port back sub up on a trunk vehicle is a bad idea. Just doing a wider port neither is going to make a meaningful difference.

IKnowImLost224
WEll I made it wider and kept it in the port area range on Torres until I got the tuning where I wanted. Should I try to do something with both firing back?
Joe X
Port back sub back can work, high port area (like >= 16 sq in per cube), tune 33-35, extremely solid build is necessary for this sub.
