My dad is letting me take his Colt AR-15 shooting today, and its a 5.56 caliber rifle. But, we have very little 5.56 and a shitload of .223. I've heard that you can do it, but I just want confirmation and not rumors.

Well I guess punching a woman is a good way to test your strength! You never know how strong you are until you cold-cock a woman in the head and break that bitches jaw.

Next time she tries to punch you in the stomach, whip your wiener out and chase her around. Show her who's boss.

Yup it's safe to shoot .223 out of a 5.56, not safe to shoot 5.56 out of a .223

going over rms = smaller box, under rms = bigger box...

Low voltage doesn't blow amps. That's a myth.

And .223 will fit in the 5.56 magazine right?

The 5.56 is a nato cartridge and is used by the military it is a little thicker in diamater than a .223 cartridge and they usually shoot hotter meaning they fire at a higher speed. a gun that is chambered in 5.56 they call a wylde chambering meaning it is bigger than the case inteded for it so if you have a .223 that has a wylde chamber you can shoot 5.56 in it as long as the receiver is strong enough to take the pressure of a 5.56 case which all modern rifles are capable of.
