HunterJohnson
I have a decent 5.1 system in my room. All polk audio speakers and a sony receiver. I want to use my alpine mrp-500 and sundown sa-8 in my room. How could I go about doing this? certifiednut
go to parts-express.com and buy a 12v power supply. these orphans aren't going to feast on themselves
SnowDrifter
2 ways: 1. computer power supply (one with 60 or more amps on +12v), strip all the +12 wires and twist them together. That way you don't run into issues with 1 12v rail being loaded up in the case that your power supply is one of the ones that uses multiple smaller ones. 2 (preferred) get a battery charger and a battery or 2. ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
HunterJohnson
I was looking at the 12v power supplies and they arent exactly affordable for 60amp ones. SO get a battery charger and a battery. Obvious pos on batt to pos on amp. neg on batt to ground on amp. what should i use as the remote wire? mrd6
honestly, with the cost of the battery and charger you could probably just buy a regular 500 watt plate amp or something My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...-sundown-power/ Team NorthWestSPL
Rebel4055
I have used a PSU and a car battery. Both with negative results. Just spend the money on a plate amp and be done with it. HunterJohnson
honestly, with the cost of the battery and charger you could probably just buy a regular 500 watt plate amp or something which is basically an amplifier like on my polk 10" sub i have right now.
