new system advise--DD 3512s- or...?

Recommended Posts

Well i hate to get into a brand war here. DD's are great subs, but IMO the prices for them are crazy. some people say it's worth it, some don't. if you're tight on space, DC and sundown subs work well in small boxes. I'm gonna attempt to fit a nightshade 18 in my trunk this summer in about 5 cubic feet net

Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs.

More box builds

some cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches!

I'm with captain stupid.

Many many people here run DC audio subs. they are tough motherfuckers. either way is a good option. can't really go wrong.

all i can say is dont spend a lot of money on those 3512s and sufficate them. they like to move air. ive had experience with 2512s and tried a couple different boxes with them. i wouldnt go under 2.5 possibly a little more. but it also depends on power you are running to them and vechicle they are in. there isn't really a straight answer. it varies between vechicles as everyone knows. DD's reccommendations (2.5 net, 40 inches of port, 16 in^2 per cube) are what they recommend and will yield you good results, but you could find you get better results deviating from those specifications. use those as a starting point. just gotta try out different designs. or contact Pete @ PWK. He has had some experience with DD. haha. anyway goodluck, DD subs defintely know how to pound

thanks alot man the input very much appreciated iv been turned onto DC by 412 cvx so im looking into the lvl 4s and the 3512s very deeply only thing that will keep me with the DD right now is that they have a rep literally 5 min from my house and there is no DC rep in my state so these are the only issues im seeing right now but thank you alot

DD drivers require 2.5 cubic feet and 40 square inches of port area per sub, if you don't have nearly the specified space better get other drivers if you do post your maximum dims.

don't let a rep turn you off of 1 company or another. DC and DD both have great customer service over the phone (at least form my experiences) and yuo can easily order from if you don't have a dealer in your area. But since I run DD you know my vote. But you'll love the DC as well. In th end what do you want your sub to look like? cause both will bang.
