BEEMDUB Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 amperage......for 90% of peoples setups a 12v battery is what is used mostly for the fact that you will quickly and easily fry equipment with too high of voltage....I'm sure others will chime in and that's just my basic knowledge as I'm not exactly an expert on this either lol

jrchevy87 Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 Voltage and amperage are both important. U need to pick a battery with the correct voltage for ur alt to charge them. Picking a 16 volt battery when your alt only puts out say 13 or 14 wont stay fully charged, and u need a battery that's gonna supply enough amperage so ur amp get the power it needs.
