412 CVX
seems like a lot of port for a pair of 12's... what program did you use to come up with these numbers? 412 CVX
well yes, to an extent you do. but that raises the tuning with every increase in port area. I'm getting about 18 per cube without any bracing disp. If there is an instance where you need 18 inches per cube of port area, then you probably need more bracing and likely a double baffle. 412 CVX
how bout you stay away from the slightly better than prefab boxes and design one around your specific sub. go to the subwoofers/enclosures section and download torres calc. make a box that's 3 cubes with about 15-16 sq inches of port per cube. 3 common port walls Quote Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs. 412 CVX
single baffle that size with no bracing for 2 SA 12's built like that is gonna have some major flex issues. BeAlLsTaR13
try to get a box like this: 3.5 cubes 33-35hz about 12-14" of port per cube open torres and try these specs: h = 15 w = 36 d = 19 port dims: 3 common walls h = 13.5 w = 3.5 l = 24 misc specs: woofer displacment = .28 specs: 3.57 cubes 13.24" of port per cube 47.25 total port area 33.68hz tuning and if you add a second baffle, EXTERNALLY youll get 3.55 cubes, 33.38hz tuning, however you wont exactly need a second baffle on that little power, plus the total motor force wont cause too much flex, a single "T" brace will be fine with 1" dowel rod. one front to back centered, and top to bottom centered will be plenty.
