HunterJohnson
Doing a build for my friends dad in his oldchool ford pick up. Back ground on his truck is he's put about 30 grand into it because he swapped the motor out for a ford lightning engine and corvette rear end. Things bad add and dropped pretty low. Anyways on to audio I need a set of components a speaker amp and subwoofer amp. I'll be using a JL W.1 shallow mount. $500 budget Whats your recommendations? Guest
how much rms power for the speakers (include resistance)? and for the lazy asses, i'll ask what the voice coil and rms power is on the sub
Justscrap
So he would rather have 2 separate amps rather than getting a 4 channel and running the comp. set off the front channel and bringing the rear channel on the jl w1? If he don't mind there are plenty of 4 channels capable of doing so....that w1 don't need much power and from the sound of how his truck is it seems to be a standard cab truck so u only have the doors to worry about,no rear fill...unless your gonna do kicks and doors,or add on a mid...then I would see you using a 4ch. Just for the doors....as for a comp set I'd go with focal....good sound quality and never have let me down. As for amps there are tons of amps out there I'd look online at diff. Sites and compare prices, pwr specs, etc. and if he don't want to ur everything off one amp he could do a sm. mono block and a 2ch. For the comp. set....Im pretty sure you'll get diff. Opinions and advice this is just my 2 cents.....good luck bro...and if he spent 30g'z on that truck don't shortcut it,haha get good quality sound and product, and nice install....again,good luck bro if you put a DD-1 in your amp terminal and it immediately went up in smoke, i would be concerned. If you shoved your dick in the terminal and it didn't blow up but a month later it blew up, i STILL WOULDN'T be able to blame your dick. It just does not make sense at all. Just get a focal comp set and run it off an amp then bridge the jl w7 on the other channel. Wouldnt the 4ch amp put out a higher hz for the sub? The JL 10W1 is a single VC 4ohm Im thinking of buying this amp then http://www.stevemead...-18s-motor-obo/ the alpine f405 seems like a good amp plus I'm down with alpine they make great stuff. iceman1575
Not a fan of the paint but that's my opinion. Other than that it looks awesome. Maybe look for a nice 5 channel amp? I've actually been eyeing it for when I upgrade my mids/highs Build in progress
