Hey guys. Well before i commit to sealing off the trunk from the cabin, i was wanting to see if i could just use some metal tape as a temporary test. Mainly too get an idea of how much louder it will be.

Its not strong enough.

Not worth the time, effort, and wasted resources in my opinion.

You just won't know for sure until you commit.

Great lol. Well then, i guess ill just commit. Im gonna be rebuilding some time soon anyways but oh well. So what sould i use to seal? Sound deadener and expanding foam?

Those and fiberglass work well. At one point, I even bolted MDF to the flat spots and filled in the seams with adhesive silicone or foam.

Mock up an extended baffle with cardboard, trace and cut on mdf, secure to box.

Fill in the rest of the gaps with expanding foam / fiberglass if need be

Could but that would be too much work for this crappy pre-fabricated box. Maybe i should go ahead and build the box for my new system but just run the current subwoofers in its place till the RE xxx's come. xD

Don't even bother until you have a proper box. It makes all the difference and you wouldn't want to go through the same thing twice would you? ;)
