stroupe79
sealing off forward from the trunk helps alot..getting the sound into the cabin toward the meter... I would get with 412CVX about a box design to get the most outta your space...he does some badass designs also deaden as much of the car as you can...as well as test flipping your current box around to face forward..even though its not sealed off from the trunk to see if it meters any better than the last time you had it done...its all trial and error to get more db's if your not adding power, more subs or even upgrading electrical to get maximum power outta your amp http://www.stevemead...cherokee-build/ 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Alpine CDE-hd148bt Alpine PKG-RSE2 PRV Audio (4) 6MB200 front/rear doors PRV Audio (4) TW350Ti dash/rear doors Kicker KX350.4 Obsidian Audio (1) 18 D4 v2 revamp (2) Stereo Integrity HT 18d2DC Audio 1.2k5.25ft^3 tuned @34hz revamp Infinite Baffle Cpillar AudioTechnix 60mil deadenerKnuKonceptz & SkyHigh wire (complete setup)
stroupe79
what he means...is the current air space is the entire cabin of the vehicle plus the trunk where the subs are firing to the rear...if you seal it off to the front..the cabin of the vehicle is the only space for the sound to fill and the space in the trunk is no longer a factor as its sealed off as a seperate compartment from where the subs are sending sound MORE SOUND in a SMALLER SPACE should be louder http://www.stevemead...cherokee-build/ 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Alpine CDE-hd148bt Alpine PKG-RSE2 PRV Audio (4) 6MB200 front/rear doors PRV Audio (4) TW350Ti dash/rear doors Kicker KX350.4 Obsidian Audio (1) 18 D4 v2 revamp (2) Stereo Integrity HT 18d2DC Audio 1.2k5.25ft^3 tuned @34hz revamp Infinite Baffle Cpillar AudioTechnix 60mil deadenerKnuKonceptz & SkyHigh wire (complete setup)
Guest
what do you mean less cabin air space?? takes the entire trunk out of the equation. the less air space your subs have to move, the louder you'll get. edit: ninja'd

ALPINE408
turn the box around and seal the edges off. eliminates trunk rattle and gives the woofers less cabin air space to move = get louder. pretty much the only other thing you can do. ^^^^^ this turn the box around and face it foward BUT!!! you have to seal the front of the box from the trunk then bumb with you back seats down pluse i would tune at 37 hz to your car res freq (how did you figure that out btw) should look like this http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/129982-dc-audio-trunk-509dbz-is-bigger-always-better/page__st__200 http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh135/alpine408/babyssuds.jpg also fix your wiring damn Have you ever had your woofers blown? CLNFREAK
I have an 06 impala (not the exact same as yours but...) my car res freq is around 47 I would 1.0 turn the box around 2.0 seal is off 3.0 tune higher (in the 40's) I am tuned to 44 now burp at 46hz and do a 147.7 sealed on dash 4.0 seems like a lot of voltage drop to me (but I am fussy I dont like below 13 volts LOL) 5.0 how did you set your gains ? 6.0 test and tune (seat position,vents,visors... ) 7.0 you meter with your seats down right ? AB18VFL
hello i have two custom 12" d4 subs made just for lowend they are 1500 rms i have a 3.5 k dc amp on them i have done the big 3 with 0guage with bigger batt in front and two spv70 stinger batts in back i have two runs of 0guage for pawer running to the back batts and a 0guage wire from the negitve post from the front batt to the back batts i have also grounded each batt in the back to the chassy also to make sure they are getting the best ground i can. i have dual input made from toolmake for the amp i have my + from my amp running off one batt and the - from my amp to the other batt to make sure i will pull off both of them and not just one i will have to make a new video tomorrow so you can see how i have everything done. I have put in a high output altenator 220. i have a digatal anl fuse holder up front with a 300amp in it installing another fuse for the other + wire going to the back aso just waiting for the fuses to come in so i can finish putting a fuse on that one. i have a cheap 7" touch screen with 2 amp preouts i am running dual rca's from the indash to the amps i have in back i have a phonix gold amp for high and the other set if for the subs. inbeweet and rca's going to the rca's to the amp i have a line driver to boost the perout volt to the sub amp. i have a gane knob for the dc amp and a stinger voltmeter up from to see what the voltage i at the rear amp. when i am playing it with car running my voltage never goes under 13 volts. my box for my subs are tuned at 30 hurtz with a slot port. last time i ran at the spl drive i only hit a 141.9 wanting to hit hard for better numbers. does any one have any ideas ? reading this was painful.
