What is the newest sundown amp model? I'm looking to power two SA-12's. I saw the SAZ-1200 and SAX-1200 and other SA amps at 1200 and am wondering which is the best/newest! I figure X is before Z in the alphabet, so SAZ is newer..

The first line on the 1200 page reads "The SAX-1200D is the successor to the SAZ-1000D model" so I think it's safe to assume the SAX is the newest version. You might want to consider something a little bigger though. The SA series woofers are very underrated so you might be doing better with a SAZ-1500D.

Hmm okay thank you! The skar vvx's are just about the same as the SA-12's correct? and alright even though the 1500 amp might work I might only have enough for the 1200.

does it matter? lol they'll both do the same amount of power. even if one does a little more than the other, you won't hear it.

Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs.

More box builds

some cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches!

I'm with captain stupid.

I don't have any experience with the Skar woofers but I know the SAs can hold 1,000 clean watts pretty easily. They are VERY hard to beat for the money. If the 1500 is out of your price range the 1200 will work fine.

i got the VVX 12s on the sk-1500 (two VVX 12s, one sk-1500)

they honestly want more, i can very clearly tell that they arent xmaxing, and are only getting luke warm after long periods of playing.

i wouldnt put more than 1000 watts or so per driver for daily full tilting. but thats just me.

theres others running way more than 1k per sub.

If you plan to grow the 1500 will sell easier & probably hold it's value better because it is more of a competition amp. You can run the ohms lower and run up to 18v whereas the 1200 is only good to 16...

The VVXs sound pretty close to the SAs. There was a guy down here running 4 SA10 on an AQ 3500 @.5 for a long time with no issues. He was over a 150db out of the trunk in a music box.

Thank you guys! I shall power the SA-12's with the SAX-1200D then, I feel like that will be good for now. Later I can move up to the 1500 since this is my first system.. I was looking at the Audioque 1200D and soundstream TX1.1300D also, but I think the SAX-1200D will blow them outta the water.
