Shitty drawings I know but this was my idea. The reason why I don't want to buy grills is because I cant find any that wont touch the sub during excursion. would this work?

No, the answer is no. That will not work, the subs will load off of that plexi. As everyone has suggested, get some speaker grilles.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Like that, but cut slots in the plexiglas to allow the subs to breathe like n8 said.

Subs move air... plexi would hamper that...

Its like making a really good air vent system... then lodging a midget in it.

It wont work as well....

i shook this one kids hand and it just folded in mine. long story short i fucked his girlfriendso.. yeah..

Use some rubber spacers under the grille between the box and the grille to give it some room for excursion. Black rubber spacers wouldn't look like a sore thumb, and it would get those grilles out and away from the surround.

it doesen't have to be premanent ... just when people ride back there ...

This is the mian reason why I cut into my back wall ... the kids destroy my amp rack, I can just imagine what the would do if my subs were down there ...
