So I'm looking for a sub / amp system for like $1000 bucks max for my new car. I'd obviously love to have 2 Fi BTL's 18s pushed by some nice RF amps but I'm not there financially yet. It's gotta bump hard .. I'm thinking 2 15s or something ....

ideas?

remember, this is w/o h/u, speakers, etc ... just for the sub system

thx

Ha, I turned a lot of heads when I just had my L7 15 and that was only like a 600 dollar setup. :D

For a thousand bucks, I would go with two L7 15s or a fully loaded BTL.

I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

if you look in the right places, you can buy brand new stuff on ebay. i think that's where i'm gonna end up gettin my alpine head unit. an 18" btl will hit hard. but the space required would be the hard part. it's in a trunk camry maybe? if i remember from your other post. plus the power required to push it will put you over your 1k mark. depending on the options you choose with it anyways. a 15" would be easier to fit and would be closer to your budget

EDIT: actually i think there might be some 18" btl's for sale round here. used but cheap. check the for sale thread if you wanna try to fit an 18"

thats a crock of shit. my entire set-up HU, speakers, wiring, subs, box, and amp cost me a little over $500 and i turn heads all the time. you dont need BTL's to turn heads :P

very true. a 1 grand system can get you a very decent setup. hell... my friend got a pair of MA audio 12's, and and amp i sold him. about...250-300 dollars total. hits very hard. especially for the price. just gotta look in the right places
