Dillan Scerri
hi guys ive got two kicker solo classic 12s for some reason they are bottoming out, they bottom out around the 20-25hz frequency im not sure if its my box they are in .66 cubic feet each kicker recomends .88 but there pre loaded boxes are .50 cubic feet could it be the way ive tuned it the only way i eliminate it is by lowering my gain/ input but then the subs are not very loud bass boost is totally off when i turn all h-u settings off its very dull and quiet the amp they are running off is a eclipse 1000rms ( 4ohm) amp any help would be totally appreciated
AB18VFL
theyre bottoming out because theyre kicker classics and your playing them at 20-25 hz. turn your subsonic filter up if you have one. ChevyBoy95
The 20-25hz range is where they bottom out? Try this thing called a subsonic filter. You shouldn't need 20-25hz response unless you are playing chopped and screwed music only, hell lowest decaf ever really went was the upper 20s, what the hell are you listening to with 20-25hz peaks? Dillan Scerri
well im guessing its at 25 could be higher but some of the lil jon songs i have make it bottom out and my amp has a built in subsonic so i cant adjust it........ the song that makes it bottom out hard is "get low " sorry if its the wrong frequency

He also was having his woofer bottom out in a sealed encloser on a LW CD. I made him a ported box tuned to around 34 hertz, takes it nicely with no problems now. Long story short I would take a educated guess here.. and say if it is sealed, it's your box. EDIT: It's most likely around 28-31 if anyone wanted to know. Dillan Scerri
yepp its sealed and i wish that was the solution my subs cant be in a ported box there like the origional solo barric how ever u spell it they can only be sealed

I could fall flat on my face for this one but I've NEVER heard of a sub that CAN'T be in a ported box.. even JL the "Notorious for sealed boxes" as my Uncle likes to say can still be put in a sealed box.. I'll do some research. Bottom line is it's bottoming out because you have a sealed box. EDIT: You are correct.. that's a first I've seen that but the sub in a ported box will tend to bottom out easier.. not sure the logic behind that but I read that Kicker made this woofer specifically for small sealed enclosers.
