Purplehaze
Thanks guys, I really appreciate all your help! I'll post up a new thread with pics and what not as soon as I get started making them. But first, I gotta get a new front batt trey built first so I'll know exact dimensions. Thanks again guys! AMI CUSTOMS
Showed up kinda late to the party, but first off, I would have used copper or at least twice the thickness in alum. Just think is your 1/0 wire copper or alum? Anyway, the finished product looks great, I also recommend using brass bolts and nuts/washers, corrosion resistance and less resistance then steel by ALOT. Can get everything you need from Mcmaster Carr.com awesome place to buy stuff like this and cheap prices. I am definitely gonna re-do the bus bars, I just went ahead and made these two for the time being, and to get some practice. I will at least use 1/2" x 1-1/2" alum. And I was wondering which bolts were best to use, I'll pick up some brass stuff soon too! Thanks again for the help! yeah it tuned out really nice. Maby get some thicker stuff like these guys said but other than that great job. Thanks man, will do! Hugh G. Rection
I would have used copper or at least twice the thickness in alum. why twice the thickness? its only 22% less conductive, electrically, than copper. silver being the best conductor of course...... i say that what he has already is perfectly fine for his needs. AMI CUSTOMS
Alum corrodes Oxides and you will lose some of that conductivity so oversize it from the beginning.
