BillKessel
this is hard to explain but if i built a box and made a slot port on the bottem from wall to wall do i have to put a piece of wood to extend it to make the port not just open up? the box is going to be sub up port front
Joe X
I guess that if you post all the specs for the sub, box and amp It would be easier to tell you what what it may need.
BillKessel
well i was just wondering, like steve's tahoe doesnt look like it has any port extender's on it at all but most people have turns in the boxes?
Amart88
Yes, Its not just a rectangle opening in the box, it actually has to extend inside the box a certain length depending on your box dimensions and how it is tuned. My 2005 s10 blazer build. 4 zcon 18's walled.

I understand, but it really depends on the specific design, for example port area and low tuning will make the port longer and will most likely need to turn, the bottom all across port is no different from other types of slot ports. The most common problen wi that style of port is the area ratio and bracing requirements.
