Notoriousj76
Just got my new 200 amp alt from Excessive Amperage. Got it all thrown on and it works fine, the only thing is that the serpentine belt slips a lot on any sort of load. Currently it's only been put on powering my defroster and every time the compressor or whatever kicks on it's chirps and my voltage drops down to like 12volts. Belt is tight, everything seems sound with the alternator, it was fairly easy to spin with my hands out of the box. Nate's alternators have an overdrive pulley so it's smaller than average, wondering if that could be a problem or if my belt is just slippery, although it looks fine. Anyone know what might be up? rocking.that.eclipse
I just had this problem. Try getting a new belt (thats what worked for me), check to make sure your pulleys are all lined up, see if they are all free spinning and I also heard that if it is too tight it will make your idler pulley squeel so make sure your not too tight
Notoriousj76
not the idler pulley. My buddies makes noise but I know my sounds pretty good. I'll try a belt though first, hopefully that'll fix it
