So, started by aiming the MDF rings and CA gluing them into position...I then taped around them to get the general shape I wanted and filled with expanding foam.

This is what I had once I pulled the tape off

Cleaned that up a bit with a razor and some sand paper to get even closer to the lines and shape I wanted the pods to have

Then I covered everything with a single layer of resin, let that sit and started building it up to add strength and shape with some bondo glass

After the first layer and a bit of sanding its starting to look alright...

Then I had to break for Dinner

After a couple layers of filler...

And we are ready for Primer!

The plan is to wrap these as well as the new mid door pods with the same Vinyl that I wrapped the face of the wall with...its the one part of this car that I will not be doing myself. As much as I would like to do the wrap work...its out of my skill set with something like this that will probably require some stitching.

And the test fit looks good!

Also, I moved to a new place recently and it has a garage! No more working outside and under awnings while it rains for me! It may not be alot to some but for a kid, fresh out of college, I love it.

So, the new workshop...I just need to get some speakers in there and finish cleaning things up.

I have a few more things I need to take pics of so that I can be up to date and hopefully I can get to that sometime this week. After this weekend, I hope to have the new door pods complete as well!

I've never seen anyone make door or pillar pods using that foam technique before. Very inventive!! Finished product looks great!!

Made some good progress on the mid pods recently and I got my new subs...haven't decided if I want to let on yet what the new setup will be...only a couple people know right now.

But started by sanding down the bedliner on the old pods. This really wasn't as bad as I was expecting, only took three pieces of 60 grit on the orbital sander to do both pods.

Then it was time for some surgery.

Test fitting some baffle angles.

Quick layer of resin for everything to adhere well to.

Then wrapped em up with an old t-shirt and put down a few layers of resin.

Ended up looking pretty good!

Then did a few layers of heavy 29oz glass and sanded em down to get ready for bondo glass and filler.

Of course at this point I couldn't help myself lol

Then, I pulled those out and did a layer of bondo glass over the parts that needed it and then put some grey primer on it so I could better see the spots I needed to add body filler to.

I added some filler last night and this is how they are sitting in the garage as I am typing. Hopefully I can give them a sanding and another layer of filler tonight if I have the time. Then everything should be ready to be wrapped and I can get music back in my car sometime next week!
