killed a level 6 coil

yea i guess u would be the man to ask because the old cone had about 2 weeks of play b4 i got it and pretty much this is my first brand new coil so how long did urs smell for?

It starts smellin' b/c its a DC. They tend to do that.

Actually I've noticed this... Why is that?

I remember tripping out thinking I was clipping it when I smelled it haha. Panic stricken.

The only time I have gotten any of mine to smell is when I knew i was pushing them past the point that i needed to and was clipping. I didnt get my m2 Level 3s to smell until I re tuned my amp with the -15db track trying to milk a few more 1/10ths from them to get to a 155. Never made my m1 XLs or m1 5s stinky on the warhorse a few years ago either.

My XL stank when I first got it off of a pdx 600. I think it's just some excess glue burning off.

spl dust is an option you can get on the coils... it's great for extra 1000 watts of power

where can i get this spl dust and how much is it. is it hard to apply? lol
