Chaosgrunt
2 18's really has more cone area?! Man thats a brain teaser then lol. Its the AudioQue HDC4's btw. 4 12s is roughly 380sq in 2 18s is roughly 440sq in (these are by using pi*r^2 and with the cutout diameter) God man its hard for me to even think about that clearly lol. But ok if 2 18's has more cone area then thats what i shall go with.

ChevyBoy95
For AQs i would ask Ami and probably no one else, i think he said they like 16sq in per cube. Chaosgrunt
Ok way off topic but i just realized what fs was. So if i like lows, the lower the fs is on a sub the better the lows play from what i can see. So the hdc3 18's are lower than the hdc4's so if i get a hdc3 18 and tune the box to its fs, it should get loud at 31hz is what im seeing. This is all eye opening. How many systems have you done before? I truly hope you're not planning on jumping into a 5Kw system as your first. Electrical upgrades must be considered. And tuning to Fs is dangerous if you don't know what the you're doing. I'm NOT being a jerk, so please don't misunderstand me, but the questions you're asking here tells me you don't yet know enough to tackle a build like this. Tuning to Fs runs the risk of having the coil jump the gap. Good way to destroy a nice sub. It's ok not to know everything, but please read and read and read. You'll get this. AMI CUSTOMS
16-18 sq inches for the AQ HDC3 and 4 depending on power level and box size. 17 sq inches is a nice non screw up number that you can't really go wrong with and get really good results. Yeah man i was just messin around lol. But yeah, i probably dont have enough knowledge for a build like this but im sure i got everything covered. How hard can walling 2 18's be? After seeing all the wall builds, not that hard. Now that i have the port area number of 17sq in/cubic foot, i got everything done. Now its time to build and either blow something up, or have a good system.
