Stiff subwoofer pleasseee help!!!

Recommended Posts

so i'm assuming i should just stick with 0db test tone

nothing lower than -10. if you play decaf or bigpimpin a lot, then -5.

alright thanks man. Like I said this is just a VERY painful learning experience.

it happens least you know now man

Check out my build log:

Hmm. Tune to -5db if I play decaf? Shit I tuned mine to 0db... will this be a problem for my sub?

no. 0db means you wont clip even if you play straight test tones.

of course playing music, your amp wont be clipping unless the music material is.

technically the safest tone recording volume to use for your amps

For beginners id use -5... first you need to learn your system and what songs are the loudest etc with your tuning...for example I can play airforces (42hz)fulltilt clipped for 30 secs and its the loudest in my hoe..subs will get really warm but not stinky..but if I play something tuned low (27)it will get stinky in 10 seconds..don't trip on recones bro..I've done the same thing..and burnt many more than I want to admit...
