Jager FTMFW, the Zx2 isn't bad but I would like to do some more detailing work and a good steam cleaning. maybe when this build is all done though. Thanks, I've put a lot of work into my first build.

That thing is a breeze to pull everything out of and detail. You can get all the trim pieces and seats and center console out in about an hour or so, then start steam cleaning away!

center console has 4 screws plus some plastic pushy things, and that's really about it. Seats are easy as hell too. I just need to find a torx to remove the seat belt fasteners on the floor, then I can take out the carpet and give it a good cleaning. Previous owner was a smoker and a dirty person in general so everything had to be wiped down vigorously to get the layers of smoke off it. Easy removal unfortunately means more rattling :(

Great stuff will be your best friend. Or get some second skin ;) And go to Autozone and they have a cheap set of torx bits. I think two different sets, one is the bigger sized bits and one is the smaller sized bits. Should be less than $30 for both sets.

You may know this but I don't know.If your bolts are like the ones in my car you'll need to get the 1/2" drive torx set.Mine on the floor was a pain and broke my hand held bits they had strong epoxy on them. The uppers are just lock tighted and torked at 60 ft lbs.Gotta luv watching for the ups van pull up with goodies.Just better when you know when.

Hell yeah dude! Good looking box you got there.

Thanks a lot, it looks good, but the flat black paint scuffs really easily :/ so I'm going to take it to the local paint shop and get them to do a coat of bedliner (leaving the port still white). bedliner will definitely help hide imperfections too

Is that so? they looked like some decently sized torx fasteners, I saw that you steam cleaned your carpet too. Did you rent a steam cleaner or just get someone else to do it? My driver side sun visor was ripped to shit when we bought the car too so I've been looking for a replacement that will fit and match the (prarie tan) interior. I'll keep that in mind when I go for steam cleaning the carpet though, thanks a lot. Any updates on your build log?

I was so excited that I forgot to take pictures of it sitting in it's box, but I'll make sure to do that when I get the chance this weekend.

My overall review on the Skar VVX-12D4 is that it looks clean and nice, but it doesn't perform as well in SPL as it's competitors like the SA-12 or DC lvl3 12 (which I want). For the price I am very satisfied with it though. I want more bass in my car.... so there might be more in the making... who knows

Sorry for the late response.Yea the steam cleaning worked ok but I just went and replaced it.I bought a steamer at wal mart to use to steam the new carpet.Ill try to remember where I got it at and post it up for ya.I paid $315 for the new carpet.Just the pics on the trim work.Right now I tore everything out to smooth out the trim pieces .Also to vinyl all the floor parts.Nice sub get up the vids of it pounding.Oh as far as the visor goes if your not comfortable fixin it yourself.A local ulpostery shop can make easy work of it and shouldn't be too much. Here it's only $50-75 depending on the material and also your location.
