Level 4 15" slot port help

Recommended Posts

I dont have much of a choice on box size. I have a very limited amount of room, and I need to just make the best of what i got. What about the slot port displacement and volume thing? How do i figure up the tuning if it changes the volume, and the volume changes the tuning? Its like a catch 22.

start with your max dim enter those then enter your desired height for the port then adjust the width to get the right port area and obviously as you lengthen the port you decrease the volume of the box with the dimensions you listed your best option in my opinion is two six inch aero ports

why did you buy your subs before you knew how much space you had?

Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs.

More box builds

some cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches!

I'm with captain stupid.

I have been considering going back to aeroports also. Slots are best for when U actually have room. I just dont want the expense of them. I literally just built ym last box, and it broke along one of the seams. I underestimated the level 4 m2's, and didnt add enough bracing. I was running a box that was 46W x 21H x 16D, 1/2" indents, dual chamber, and 2- 3" aeroports per chamber. tuned to around 30 hertz. It sounded awesome, even got me my first noise ticket lol, but then I played rack city, and the box broke on the driver's side seam. I dont wana fix it, cuz I wana make it a bit bigger, tune a little lower, and im afraid its prolly just gna break again. Or leak.

sounds like you need practice building boxes

I have actually built quite a few boxes, and they have all sounded great, and never really had any probs. BUT, i dont usually do slot ports, never quite clicked with me, I've preferred aeroports. So, i dont mean to come off as rude, but Instead of criticizing, why dont u help me learn how to do slot ports so I can get better?

WALL the bish

I would love too, but my pickup is a daily driver, still gets used heavily as a truck, and I regularly pull a trailer. i kinda need my back window LOL

make the box for one 15 and use the other as a backup for if/when you blow it.
