Enclosure For TFS Igor 18 (DC Level 4 18)

This summer i'm planning on doing a pretty beefy build from the ground up (including alt, bateries, new amps, and an 18) and was wandering what general box specs i should take into account to push the TFS Igor 18 (DC level 4 18) to its limits. Max specs are 20" deep 23" wide and 25" tall. Going in a Dodge Dakota quad cab in place of a bucket seat in the back. Any tips and tricks are much appreciated. this is my first "big" build.

you should not need more than 1500rms, and to tell you the truth, i wouldnt put more than 1500rms daily to it EVER. I ran 2 level 4s a while ago and in 3.4 cubes per (they were 15s) 1500 was pushing them to the limits.

i would do:

-1200-1500rms (dc 1.2k, sundown 1500 or 1200, skar 1500 etc.)

-6 cubic ft enclosure tuned around 34hz with ~100sq in of port

-270 alt (not needede because 1500rms can be delt with in just batteries, but alt is key if you have the money)

-New AGM for stock location (biggest you can fit, either XS, Kinetik, C&D, Stinger, Odyssey, etc.)

-1 run of 1/0 gauge (can be split in the back for 2 4ga, mid/highs and bass amp) make sure it is OFC

all of this would be around ~1000 or 1100 bucks not including the 18. and this is a quick general add up with all prices rounded up so it could be less.

edit: i just checked your max dimensions, you have only about 5.4 cubic feet BEFORE ALL displacements besides .75in wood thickness all around. Truthfully you dont have enough room for that 18 unless you really bump up the power and know what you are doing, and by you saying it is your first big build i wouldnt do. The DC 18s can go about as low as 5 cubic feet but still with port i think you would land in the mid to low 4s.

Oh i know how much it would cost. I've already got my sheet going. i was wandering if i could get awaw with putting around 4.5 to 5 cubes after all displacement and put more rms (around 1600) or clean power to it because i know dc is underrated... but with a $380+ sub, i sure don't want to blow it. I was going to put a 200 amp alt under the hood with 2 xs bats because i'm pushing under 400rms to a 12 currently and headlight dimming is a bitch. if i need to i can step down to the 15 to cut back a bit on airspace.

sorry didn't see your edit about the airspace... i was planning on using an aero port ... looks like i'll be going for the 15 then... and if i do that i might just jump up to the frakenstien series (dc xl 15)

you can get away with 5 cubes and 1600rms, by all means go for it, it will just take quite a bit more power to get it moving which will help with the 1600rms. I would try it with 5 cubes anyway.
