I really dig the fact that the artist behind that famous paintwork (Carolyn Hall Young) still communicates with audio people on FB and still gets tons of compliments on them 20yrs later. Wicks Posted June 26, 2015 Author Report Share Posted June 26, 2015 Test fitting some thin MDF on the trunk lid liner which I used as a template since it already fits on the trunk lid perfectly. Re-installed the liner and prepped to add some resin to the carpet to strengthen it. MDF panels glued in with some supports. Some holes for threaded inserts to screw the amps into. Didn't want normal screws to strip out the MDF. Cutting access holes in the back of the liner, for wiring. Close up of the wood filler pieces around the panels, so I don't need a huge amount of heavy body filler which would make the panel excessively heavy. ...yes I added some fiberglass tape to the liner which didn't stick very well to the resined carpet... No worries, it call came together very solid. I left open the handles on the lid that you use to grab and lower it. After thinking that that area would be difficult to wrap in vinyl, I decided to just cover them up.
