3 subs, 2 different. all same size. got some questions

Recommended Posts

hello guys and gals.

might sound like a retarded question but one not asked is even more retarded.

i have a 12 inch treo SSX sub and 2 12 inch treo TE's that i am wanting to combine in to one box.

the SSX would be on its own amp and the 2 TE's would be on there own amp.

my question is, what issues could this cause or could it work at all.

link to treo's website for the info on subs if you want them.

thanks and have a wonderful day/night.

joshua

EDIT: i could also run the SSX in its own box and the TE's in 2 different boxes if needed.

you will get speaker cancelation if you run 3 subs in the same air space not the same subs and on seperate amps each sub will be movin a different amount of air space. if you want to run different subs in the same box i recomend chambering each sub seperatly in that one large box or at least the different model subs have there own chamber and then just tune all of the seperate chambers the same and it should turn out alright

i have played around with two different pairs of 10s, i put all, 4 of them in the car in two boxes and played with the tuning of one oft them.

my result was when the two boxes where tuned to roughly the same frequency they sounded terrible, but they where tuned about 10hz about, it was loud and i got a much flatter response

thanks for all your imput guys. think im going to go with 2 treo SSX subs. wire them at 5000 watts @ 1 ohm. i just need to get the box cu ft net figured out and the port. i have a real hard time figuring out ports for some real reason. i used the calucator but still am lost.
