Alex Gazza Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 Just thought I should come on here and ask some people who have a higher knowledge level in this than I do. Currently I have two 12' MTX Jack Hammer series subs running at 1k, planning for an upgrade, I was going to get the Fi SSD15, but im not 100% sure on which amp I should buy. Any suggestions?
TeamHT Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 An amp with output rated RMS that matches the subs RMS? Hardly doubt youre going to upgrade from two decent 12"s to a single decent 15" Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
Nate Futuristic Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 i ran my single 15" SSD off a Sundown SAZ-1000d @ 1ohm (before rise) (clamped it @ 940 rms dropping down to 12.3v) (4 cube slot ported box tuned to 32hz) and it slapped pretty hard but like said above you wont notice much difference if any at all from the 12s (possibly better frequency range depending mostly on the box design) more cone area with the 12s maybe just buy/build a ported box tuned low for the 12s and save the money for a "real" upgrade like TeamHT said (im going to be running 4 15" SSD's in my new build on a little more than 5k ) depending on if its fully loaded (cooling, flatwind, internal leads, ect) i wouldnt push more than 1300rms to it (CLEAN UNCLIPPED) down rpping vanderbilt. 30 miles from victoria. i own the 3rd loudest setup here out of 3. but i did put together all 3 setups ^^ Cant wait to swalllow Ghost's babies
