how to measure a port when it turns

^what he said. but it's not the most noticeable thing in the world. may help a little bit on the meter by a matter of tenths of a decibel, but not incredibly louder. It might sound smoother though. IMO, It's worth doing, but if you can't manage it, it's not a big deal.

Here is an example for a port that is 31" long:

take that total port length of 31 the first part 8.25 is your first cut thats easy to calculate. second part (the bend) 31 minus the 12.5 thats the total length of that side of the box. that will give you the cut of the second board. It always works unless you have a port thats smaller then the length of your side.
