Craig28 Posted May 9, 2012 Report Posted May 9, 2012 If you're looking for budget amps look for one of the old BXi series. They do rated at 14.4 and drop off like 10% per volt dropped or something. The BRZ lines actually do do rated though. I wouldn't touch the HFi. TEAM DC Everything is a 150 on th earometer Well I guess punching a woman is a good way to test your strength! Toofast4u Posted May 9, 2012 Report Posted May 9, 2012 I remember seeing a test from Pasmag where one of the older, better hifonics amps that did 5k didn't even make rated power until 5% thd. Hell the 2011 Colossus didn't even do rated at 1% thd and 14.4 volts.

bdawson72 Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 I recently bought a hfi1500d. Im getting conflicting reports though. Some say its essentially the old brutus line some say its complete ass. Once I get it hooked up i'll see if i can use an ammeter and roughly determine my wattage. I'll be happy with 1100ish and relatively low clipping @ 14v.
Truconcept Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 just get a brz and call it a day i wouldnt touch anything hifonics thats lower than brz but thats just me why would u get such a nice woofer and poo on it with clipping diarrhea? i understand wanting 2 push limits 4 burps but please turn the bass boost off on your amp at least **actin bad like a kid at six flags**
bdawson72 Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 i just said that i already bought one. No need in suggestions. Its sitting beside me and I wont be returning it. Just because I have 3 posts, it doesnt mean that im a noob. lol. My other vehicle does 48's at the headrest.

Lbox88 Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 I can't remember for sure, but a user here named fecupe did some testing and clamping of hifonics amps. Try to find his amplifier challenge threads. UBL | Build Log
