Chris Lamp
Alright I have a old set of power acoustik mofo 12's sitting around the house, I'm bored so I figured I would wire them to 1ohm and see what they got, I took both of them out of the box and here I have 1 2ohm sub and 1 4ohm sub. Is there any way to make these work at 1ohm if not whats the best way to wire these or would I just be better off running 1? O yeah my amps are 2x P.A. bamf 4000/1D's strapped
97Jetta1637
i don't think there's a way to get 2 different subs (4 ohm, 2 ohm) to be wired together properly, plus 4 ohm subs can't be wired down to 1 ohm. 2 or 8 ohm Quote #teamihop Two 12 inch DC XL's Carbon Fiber Cap Stetsom 7k Shell of box / baffle built by me Port / sealing the box by John Hone Fuck midrange Alpine-9886 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/177428-97jettas-sql-trunk-wall-loudest-99-buick-century-custom-with-a-one-legged-owner/ price has no influence on how something sounds I told him to move the fucking port. they see me hoppin they stoppin they can't believe im so white and dirty It looks like you got so drunk, that someone came up and stole your leg. Jessica
Well, technically you could get .68 in theory and with box rise you might see 1ohm. But you would have to wire parallel one 4ohm coil to the other two ohm coil, on both subs then wire that parallel. I'm trying to visualize that and i don't even know if it would work. Resistance = (2ohm coil x 4ohm coil) / ( 2 ohm coil + 4 ohm coil) (8/6) =1.33 (1.33X1.33)/(1.33 + 1.33) = .68 Hmmm.... S15_Silvia
The coils have different impedances, and would be seeing different wattages because of that. White Lightning
you would be better off running 1 sub per amp ... for one amp to see a 1 ohm lod and the other sees 2 ohms ... Might not be the "Correct" way of doing things, but you will have a better chance of not burning amps up ... I don't think the amp would give a crap. If it can handle the load. It just does what it's told, i think the sub would go first since one coil would be trying to move more than the other. Magic smoke would ensue. Quote Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. My super random youtube channel and terrible camera work.
