Can Someone Help Me Layout My Mids/highs?

Recommended Posts

well it was easy to do the 8 6.5's to the amp at 2 ohm, but now ive got more 6.5's and the 4 tweets im starting to confuse myself ect.

mids will consist of 12 6.5's single 4 ohms @ 50wrms each

and 4 1inch tweets unknown ohm's @ 50wrms

for a total of 16 speakers total, i can get a 4ch amp and run 4 speakers per ch, and have 1 tweeter on each ch, so it will be 3 6.5 and 1 tweet per ch.... and thats 1ohm or 4ohm? if the tweet is also 4ohm....

i think i answerd my own question but can someone double check and makesure im on the rite track, and or should i run my tweets on a seperate amp from the mids? and 200 wrms x4 shouldnt be a hard amp to find with a nice built in adjustable xover... i hope

sounds right to me, just 2 questions.

1. do the tweeters have passive crossovers?

2. Do those crossovers have an output that is -12db?

I only ask the second because the tweeters might be a little too loud depending on where you plan on mounting them...IMO.

My System:

Pioneer AVH-P3200BT

4-Dayton 7 inch reference series (front doors)

8-Onkyo 3/4 inch tweeters (dash)

1-Sundown Audio 100.4D (mids/highs)

2-18" BTL's (for now)

Crescendo 3kwp (for sale)

Complete rebuild coming soon...

I always check at the12volt.com, they have a parallel and series calculator, it would be .8ohms parallel and 20ohms series, so that might be a lil difficult to achieve unless you used a crossover on one 6.5 and tweet to seperate the power and still pull 4 ohms, and that would be 4x4oms=1ohm paralleled. If that helps any.

running active or passive?

And the tweets will not affect the overall load.

and as far as active and passive ,. thats sound quality stuff and i have no idea about....

passive is running a crossover between the amp and the speakers

active is the signal is processed before it goes to the amp.

you can cook bacon shirtless if you're not a pussy...lol

not hatin, but am i wrong here it looks as if the amp is not grounded its hooked directly to the battery. it that the way it should be.

You can run 4 speakers per channel for a 4 ohm load on each channel and set a hpf at about 60-80hz, the tweeters crossovers will take care of the block everything so its not damaged.
