Difference between D and XP?

Can anyone tell me the difference between the D and XP series batteries?

if i remember correctly, the D series batteries can be used under the hood, or as a secondary battery.. however, the xp series is only to be used as a secondary battery, not under the hood.

XP is a secondary power source with more capacity. S/D series has a faster discharge rate with more instantaneous power and can be used as a starting battery.

Now that I think about it, I have less than 3000 watts and an optima red top up front.

Do I want the XP for larger capacity or the D with faster discharge rate?

I would say go with D, only reason you would need an XP is if you're going to run your system with your car off, I mean that's the way I see it, otherwise why the XP? I mean you're going to have your car on anyways if you're bumpin your system right? So that you always keep a charge and keep your voltage at 14~

If you are not going to be competing, then I would suggest the XP3000. Less expensive and if you aren't putting it on a meter you will never know the difference.

But whether competing or not, D will give you best performance, right? Could you say you can HEAR the difference?
