Jordan Guess Posted May 23, 2012 Report Posted May 23, 2012 Okay so i finally got a good box built for these but I am noticing they like to distort not even at full power. The box is tuned to 38 hz and has a VB of 1.72 cuft. They are running off of a Power Acoustic BAMF 2000, which when wired at 1 ohm says that it RMS's at 1200 but i don't know if that is actual rated power or not. I have the gain at a little less than half way, the LPF up to 200, the SSF at 30, and the bass eq at about half. One theory is that these subs may not be fully broken in? I bought them used but they had been sent in to be reconed before i purchased them and had never been played when I received them after the recone. They probably have only had about 3-4 hours of play time on this amount of power and on the DD website said they may take a while to break in. would this be causing my distortion? The reason I ask is because I looked at youtube videos of these things and someone was putting a JL 1000/1 to each and was flexing his windows. Im sure ive got something goofed up with my tuning, but maybe its the need to be broken in as well? your input is much appreciated, thanks!
Bump4life Posted May 23, 2012 Report Posted May 23, 2012 not sure if its a good amp. dude turn your LPF down to like 80 hz thats could be part of problem. make sure your not clipping. yes it will take time to break in. just dont send a clipped signal.
