Meade Or Any One Else With A Walled 4cylinder Small Car

well my build is going to be starting soon .. and i was just wondering .....any one that has a small car (i have a escort ) thats not that strong and has walled it ..... with adding 2 18s batts ect just lots of extra weight ... how is the motor handaling it? i dont wanna kill my engine.... or if im driving on the high way have my engine running constently at 4-5rpm lol.... so what i worried about is all this weight will it hurt my engine kill my car?

thanks any other input on cars in this situation ect is more then welcome!!

well I dont have a wall in my Cavi.......but it IS HEAVY..........and shes still got plenty of Giddyup..........

my beretta was walled......it had a 2.0 4 cyl..............it was heavy.....and i drove that thing all over....never had a problem

yea...id be more worried about the trans................than the engine as well.....tho I havnt had any problems

well that makes me fill a little better i think my escort is a 1.9L 4cyl... and i will most likely be doing a decent about of driving in it.

how was the suspension on them cars with all the weight ?

If you can find the parts i would say to re gear it but it would be hard to find new gears and for suspension i would say helper springs or the air bag inserts that get filled with air and make the suspension stonger

sounds like a good idea with the helper air bags you know a good place to get them?

for my geo( not walled but a lot of weight 7-800lbs)lost alot of giddy-up, not that i started with much...3cyl. for the rear suspension i modified a set of front springs from a 70 chevelle to fit in the stock location. with the car empty it sits 2" higher than stock and with all the weight it still has a slight rake. i also believe the ride quality has improved over the original springs
