Crandis16
So I've just got coaxials in the front and back of my ford escort Zx2 and I'm interested in midbass because there is definitely a range of frequency that is lacking the right speakers to reproduce it. Should I replace my coaxials with midbass speakers? or do a combination of midbass, mids, and sub ofcourse? I'm looking for any helpful suggestions here, thanks in advance Quote My Red zx2 Build Log My Black zx2 Build Log My Red zx2 UBL

Herokight
It seems like the norm for a four way set up is sub, midbass, mid, and then highs (tweets). If you already have coax speakers with tweeters on them I would just find a way to add midbass speakers. Quote Lane AKA HeroKight '96 Jeep Cherokee Classic 4x4 R.I.P. If you already have coax speakers with tweeters on them I would just find a way to add midbass speakers. ^This as a quick inexpensive solution but if you would like to do it right then adding a component set (separate tweeter and mid) and a mid bass would be a better route. You would need an electronic crossover or an amp that is active capable to achieve your goal in dialing in all the right frequencies. Not to advertise my for sale thread (eventhough I am doing it lol) but I am selling some Kicker SSMB8 midbasses if you're interested. Active crossovers would pretty much a must. Quote Lane AKA HeroKight '96 Jeep Cherokee Classic 4x4 R.I.P. Molliboo $200 for new tires, on a jeep!? michigancapri92
A good component set with well deadend doors will be able to take care of your midbass problem! I have been in an sq car with just 2 way component and it was able to play from 50hz and up clear and strong ... just need good speakers and good sound deadener! ... just my 2 cents Quote Teamcapri.comThe TeamCapri 1992 Mercury Capri XR22012 FORD EDGE SQ BUILDOld build logMy FeedBack1992 Mercury capri XR2 Hyper LED
Herokight
^^^ This is also true. My components are crossed from 80hz and up with the subs 80hz and down and I don't feel like too much is missing. Crandis16
Ha, I just realized that I have my HPF set to 100Hz and my LPF set to 80Hz for the lows.... so I'm missing that 80-100Hz right there... dumbass attack right there lol. But I'm still interested in midbass. I'm kinda hesitant on doing it if they need their own enclosure, other wise I would like to do like a 6.5" set and throw them onto a custom bracket on the rear deck (it's a coupe so I probably only really need one set of coaxials). I have been meaning to get some sound deadener... do you recommend putting it on the entire enterior of the door? or just a few patches here and there, pics of previous builds always help to I know i would need to get an amp for these bad boys if I got midbass in my car, would I really need a crazy HU to use as an equilizer? or are there cheaper solutions.... I'm all about saving money Quote My Red zx2 Build Log My Black zx2 Build Log My Red zx2 UBL
