logspace Posted May 26, 2012 Report Posted May 26, 2012 An old power akoustic amp fried while it was pushing 2 Alpine Type R 12'' It was 1800 watt peak, and running at 1 ohm. the inside of the amp looked burned around the RCA inputs. Any Idea what could have caused this? I took it to a tech guy and he said it "was pushing straight DC current" to the subs. My subs still play and seem to be alright. I am wondering if the subs are ok, and if there is a way I can check the voice coils for damage. Thanks
