I think the 10 and 12's are 3" and the 18 is a 3.5" coil. Sound crappy? Are you sure you're doing the right thing with the box, power, tuning, etc? Because I've had a pair of 12"L7 (model 2002) in a vented box and it sounds good. Right now, I have a pair of S10"L7 (model 2008) in a vented box and it sounds great. In fact, many of my friends were impressive by it. It's all about box design and not the subwoofer (for most part). What size and power are you using for your subs?
