I recently purchased 2 fi BL 18" and I'm about to start the build of my first enclosure ever. (I've only owned prefabs) and I'm trying to understand port tuning and volumes, fq. after a lot of reasearch I came up with this simple design. My questions: is it ok? should I make it bigger? smaller? its it properly tuned? (I want a loud daily setup) port??? longer? shorter? wider? narrower? I'm going to add 45's to the inside corners. do you think it will need bracing? or the port will act as one? in general what do you think??? thanks for your input. audio related merchandise (decals,banners,lanyards,hats,shirt,etc)

getlocivic Posted May 29, 2012 Report Posted May 29, 2012 please DO NOT USE THE RE CALCULATOR.. not accurate at all.. general idea for a box... go for 6 to 7 cubes each tuning at 29hz is fine keep the port area in the 14 to 16" per cubic foot double baffle where subs mount and braces for the back wall and the sides subs up port back in suv's and hatchbacks
