meade916
I was wondering why the port is so short (length) for such a big box. Should not the port be much longer than that? Maybe it's tuned high like 50Hz or more? the size of the box doesnt determine the port size (rather i should say, whether its necessarily longer or shorter, it just is what it is). this port was made this way because i had no choice. Top to bottom, there is no more room (top of box, bottom by the batteries). Side to side, there is no more room (sub motors in the way). It is tuned to 30hz or so right now so going longer will do 2 things. It will TRY to tune itself lower but with little to no luck and due to the port being longer, it is taking up even MORE real-estate (box volume) inside the box. So now, with a longer port, the box got smaller. So tuning went down, then back up again and now theres even LESS space in the box. so thats the story with that port. Next box will be different. This one is almost 5 years old and im due for a re-do. Mid august is lookin like when that might happen (hint-hint) Ive been waiting for a SPECIAL reason to make that new box.......if you dont know that reason, you will find out soon. UcantCme
This box is off the hook man and I don't mean to bump this but what was the specs of your box, and port? Also how much resin did you use on the outside as well as the inside? Last thing how much rhino coat, and primer cans did you have to buy? If you can't remember I understand. Thanks man I look to build in the future and just want to know what I am getting myself into. Again sorry about bumping this.
