Redcorn245 Posted June 5, 2012 Report Posted June 5, 2012 I am looking for an amp that's running true 1500rms+ @ 4 ohms. Right now my sub is dvc 2 ohms wired to one ohm @ around 1500 watts. But i want to run at four ohms to see if it will sound better. Maybe upping spl. ANY IDEAS??????????????? Quote

I have looked into what you want to do, and I really couldn't find many amps that put out a significant amount of power @ 4 ohms besides these guys. Looked at DC even. To get 2k watts @ 4 ohms out of a DC amp oyu need to go with the 7.5k which is rediculous if u want 4 ohm output lol. GL on the search though. And if you ever do find one, let me know if there is a difference. I would love to guess there is a difference, when you go from 60-70% effiencincy up to 85-95%. Edit: Lol ninjad. If power and signal clarity are the same then the only difference you will see is as a result of the quality of the amplifier. I'd say just invest in a better quality amp, not a more powerful one. The DD S2b is rated at 1600 bridged @ 4 ohms and 2700 @ 2 ohms. http://www.ddaudio.com/products/mobile-audio/amplifiers/full-range-amplifiers/s-series/s2b.aspx Anything high end at around 400w x 2 should bridge to around 1500 watts. It's going to be very costly on your electrical though, as most of these types of amps are class AB. Quote
