Jessica
Did you have the amp bridged running to one set of mids, or just hooked up normal? ALPINE408
mids can take a whole lot more power that an tweet can and its a lot harder to hear tweets distort then mids user error would be my guess i have blown up many of tweets in my day just saying Quote Have you ever had your woofers blown? ShockStruck
What did the specs say on the component set for maximum power ?? Did the specs say (Even with the passive corssover) what the minimum frequency response was for the tweeters ?? The maximum power for the components is 90 watts RMS, my amplifier puts out 90 watts RMS @ 2 ohms/channel ( Infinity Kappa's are 2 ohms ), The Tweeter's frequency response is 3500 - 35000Hz http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_13970_Infinity-Kappa-10.9T.html - Tweeters http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_13971_Infinity-Kappa-680.9cs.html?SearchClickout%5Bquery_id%5D=10158821&SearchClickout%5BIgnore%5D=1 Component Set that came with tweeters http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_31877_Kicker-ZX350.4-11ZX350.4.html - amp Edited June 6, 2012 by ShockStruck

ShockStruck
Did you have the amp bridged running to one set of mids, or just hooked up normal? The amp is wired normal, left positive and negative to crossover input, right positive and negative to right crossover input. My amplifier has 2 separate gain controls, crossovers, and bass boosts labeled amp 1 and amp 2. The components are wired to amp 1. The amp puts out 90 watts RMS/channel @ 2 ohms, the speakers maximum power handling is 90 watts RMS @ 2 ohms (These are 2 ohm speakers). http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_31877_Kicker-ZX350.4-11ZX350.4.html - My amplifier Edited June 6, 2012 by ShockStruck

Miguels
get some crescendo tweeters. im powering mine with a kicker 850.4 and are still going after months of screaming. i did set my crossover to 125hz and im using a crossover from crescendo for the tweeters. my brother keeps having trouble with his infinity kappa tweeters. it was even sending his amp to protect mode Quote my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
m&c caraudio
From experience I know that the tweeters are very sensitive once you over power them or give them any little distortion they blow. When I install the kappa components I always put the tweeter at -3 . The midrange is solid but the tweets are crap.
