The unit only has 1 set of output RCA's, so you use the Y adapters to plug in the right RCA on 1 adapter, and the left RCA on the other adapter. So you'd need two 2 female to 1 male Y adapters. It just uses the RCA's to transfer the input rather than the telephone cord.
